Becoming an official with the KWHRA

The KWHRA is an association of ice hockey officials with extensive experience and knowledge of the rules of hockey. During the winter, our officials work recreational men's, ladies and old timer's leagues and tournaments. The summer months are Minor Hockey and recreational men's leagues.

We are not affiliated with Minor Hockey however a majority of our officials referee in both associations. Below are the steps involved to become a member of the KWHRA:

Complete the application form below
Application form will be reviewed by the executive of the KWHRA
If selected, you will officiate summer Minor hockey for a minimum of one season
You will be supervised by a member of the KWHRA
If selected, you will be put on probation for one year with limited assignments
You are required to attend the monthly meetings
A review of the probationary officials will be done by the executive and if accepted you will become a full time member
